Your Score Report will be available online four to six weeks after the paper-based test, and two to three weeks after the computer-based test. The fastest way to get your scores is to register for our free online results service.
Depending on the university, college or organization you wish to apply to, you will be asked to achieve a specific grade or score, either overall or in a particular skill. In B1 Preliminary the following scores will be used when submitting results:
Certificates are normally sent to authorized test centers within two months of the exam. Please contact your center if you would like to know the specific date.
We believe it is important to recognize your achievements even if you do not reach Level B1. If your exam performance is below Level B1 but within Level A2, we will recognize your achievement with a certificate from Cambridge English stating that you have demonstrated Level A2.

Demonstrate your level of spoken English by participating in a conversation by asking and answering questions and talking about, for example, your preferences. Your speaking test will take place face-to-face together with one or two other candidates and two examiners. This makes your test more realistic and reliable.
The B1 Preliminary Listening test consists of four parts. In each part you have to listen to one or more recorded texts and answer some questions. The recordings are played twice.
